We have been watching the Samsung Galaxy S II for a while now. Just when you start thinking that mobile phones cannot innovate... as soon as you start thinking to yourself, it doesn't matter which mobile device I use, they all look the same and do the same thing,here comes the Galaxy S II. There are many little things that make this device awesome, but one of the most innovative features we found was the web based management interface.
Typically mobile device manufactures sell, ship or instruct you to download management software that you install on your PC. There are many reasons these companies benefit from doing from getting software installed on your desktop, but there are only few reasons that benefits the consumer. The Samsung folks re-thought that scenario and decided to make the device 100% manageable from a web browser. No downloads, no installs. Just connect the device to your wireless network, type in the URL or name, authenticate...and BOOM!, You are in. We have not yet been able to use the management console, but it appears to be a heavy Java app that can run on all the common browsers. Check out Jo's video here:
